About the Volunteer Opportunity

The Squirrel Drey is the youngest section of the N.I. Scout movement and are aged 4 yrs. to 6yrs.

They are the beginning of our learning experience of opening up to a new world of adventure in their everyday learning. They can draw, colour in, paint, and do storytelling of all the things they learn.  The Squirrels play, act out stories, enjoy fun, and learning from the stories and drawings you give them to do. You as a Leader or Helper will never be left on your own as you will have the support of other Leaders to help you out in anything you do.

About the Organisation

Every year we help over 10,000 young people in Northern Ireland enjoy new adventures; to experience the outdoors; interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

We continue to grow with more and more young people joining in the adventure every day. With 163 Scout Groups and 80 Explorer Scout Units across Northern Ireland you are never far from somewhere to get involved.

You can join once you are 6 and are never too old to take part. Scouting is open to all no matter who you are, your gender, where you come from or your faith if any. As a youth movement, every young person has the right to join. Come along and experience life changing experiences.

Working alongside our youth members are thousands of adult volunteers, with a huge variety of roles and opportunities.
