About the Volunteer Opportunity

RSPB are looking for volunteers to help them survey breeding waders between April and June around Lough Beg. These surveys are vital for informing habitat management and influencing conservation decisions. Training will be given if you are new to surveying

About the Organisation

The RSPB is a charity for the conservation of birds and nature. We bring people together who love birds and other wildlife, and who want to take action to restore the health and diversity of the natural world.

Volunteers are out on nature reserves undertaking practical conservation work, they protect rare nest sites from egg thieves, they run social media accounts, help with administration, attend events, speak to the public, show people birds, take photos, organise filing and generally do whatever’s needed.

Almost 12,000 volunteers account for 85% of their workforce in the UK – and RSPB couldn’t do their work without them. Between them, they do around a million hours of incredible work.
