About the Volunteer Opportunity

We’re looking for warm, compassionate volunteers to support people visiting our food bank. If you enjoy listening, helping others feel at ease, and connecting people with the support they need, this role could be a great fit.

What you’ll do

  • Welcome clients with kindness and respect
  • Gather essential information in a sensitive, confidential way
  • Offer a listening ear
  • Signpost people to local services such as benefits advice, housing support, or wellbeing services (information/training provided)
 

What we’re looking for

  • Friendly, empathetic approach
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Reliability and discretion
  • Confidence speaking with people from all backgrounds

Hope Magherafelt aim to inspire, empower and connect people, by providing the support needed to transform and improve lives. We want to retore hope in our community by creating a space where life’s struggles are shared and supported. Our Hub is the window to our projects, which include but are not limited to, foodbank CAP (Christians against poverty) and Mum’s café.

-You will be given all the required training and support before starting your role.

-You will have a main contact throughout your time volunteering.
