About the Volunteer Opportunity
Headway have a group of 10 adults of a range of ages meeting weekly in Moneymore recreation centre on a Wednesday morning for 2 hours.
The group take part in various activity like playing Boccia ( a type of bowls), creating art and taking part in quizzes. They enjoy refreshments and a chat each week. The group coordinator always has a programme which he plans and books ahead so no organisation is needed by the volunteer. He is always at the group and will direct the volunteer
About the Organisation
Headway is a national charity that supports adults and their families with an acquired brain injury. We have weekly groups across NI who meet for peer support and to enjoy a planned programme of activity both physical, informative and to promote well being
Our aim is to promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and provide information, support and services to survivors, their families and carers. In addition, Headway will campaign to reduce the incidence of brain injury.
