Emergency Response Volunteer - Dungannon
British Red Cross
About the Volunteer Opportunity
If you are compassionate and like helping and meeting people, then this could be the role for you. Volunteers like you will be working alongside the local emergency services every day, from house fires and localised flooding to power cuts and water shortages, the British Red Cross responds to an emergency approximately every 4 hours.
As an Emergency Response Volunteer, you will help people prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. Every individual affected will need different support from us and you can be there to help someone when they need it most. Spread the power of kindness with us and help make sure that those who need support get it.
Volunteers must be able to access Dungannon town centre within 30 minutes.
The service operates 24/7 and they are looking for volunteers who can give 2 x 12-hour shifts per month.
A full driving licence that entitles you to drive in the UK. And you must have access to a vehicle and be willing to drive a British Red Cross vehicle.
About the Organisation
The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global network of volunteers, responding to natural disasters, conflicts and individual emergencies. We enable vulnerable people at home and overseas to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, we help people to recover and move on with their lives.
